The Flying Boy
I can’t recall another time when I’d felt so alive
The day when that feeling disappeared
came out from nowhere.
I always knew that it wouldn’t stay
But I never knew that it would fade
like a patch of old paint.
Those days slipped through my hands
Maybe someday, I’ll ask myself
if I’ll ever see them again.
And if I find that feeling again
I’ll expect that it won’t last long.
I can’t recall another time when I’d felt so alive
it was easier to be happy when
that feeling was still there.
I’ll make a wish for another chance to feel young again
Then I’ll keep it safe from disappearing.
