The Fleeting Ghost of You

No words can bring to life the fleeting ghost of you.
You haunt my empty hours; there’s nothing I can do,
for if you think of me, I guess I’ll never know.
And how you made me thrill, no words can ever show.

Congratulations Andrea! This short poem is capable of transmitting clearly the essence of this semi-poignant memory, though at the same time you leave us free to 'scratch' gently between the lines. ~ Best regards // paul

' if you think of me ... I'll never know ' - that's a thought that frequently crosses my mind in regards to many individuals who cross my heart. All four lines made a great read just that those two 'abbreviated' something in me I've long wished to precisely condense. Fun contest, I wonder how much time, in general, we spend 'searching' for contest entries?, and happily so! Love, CayCay

Wow, did I read this at the right time. Listening to an old love song while reading this poem evoking memories of past soulmates. Congrats.

I have you to thank for my placement in the contest; you encouraged me to jump into the last spot and I was happily obedient. Thank you, Andrea! Your entry, your chosen 4 lines, leaves me wanting more. It is intriguing, plus. Were it not 2:30 am, I would click on it now but instead I wrote it down and just need to find where I inked it when I get up. Happy to be by you! Congrats and love ... CayCay
