The Flame of the Poet's Soul
I've touched the flame of the poet's soul
and felt the burning of wondrous wonder
it dances in my mind a brighter glow
where treasured words are there to plunder
Forgive my sin of being a dreamer
whose lost in the realm of forever land
where stars are candles lit on another world
and waterfalls pour on planets of barren sand
Where imagination stirs vibrant colors
to paint rainbows that circle the Earth
where a flame burns all the crumbled paper
and the ink that flows starts a new birth
Words can take me to the sun and moon
to see the shadow of my soul
and walk in meadows and forest-green
lost in time...without control
I awaken to a lane draped in roses
after passing all the petals that fall
the color of my passion bleeds red
I've entered the poet's sacred hall
I found the flame that was burning there
I'm standing all alone
I touched the flame of the poet's soul
where imagination and I are home
