The Flame of Passion

the flame of passion

the candle flickers
shadows sway on the wall
the dim glow
highlights you silhouette
you walk toward me
and I see your smile
I feel warm
as you reach for my hand
your gentle gasp
sends chills down my spine
you lead me away
into your loving arms
together we become one
dropping our regrets
like tattered clothes
stripped of our sin
we embrace face to face
everything else
disappears in the dark
off to ecstasy
we both slowly embark
the candle flickers
your eyes glow
with satisfying pain
I sigh
you call out my name
I hold on
with all of my might
asking
is everthying all right
the candle flickers
a tear drop falls
you smile
and say it is now
