The First Night of Fall
The days descend into nightfall fast
And deciduous pillars shed their decay
The wind hits with a chilling blast
But the children are still out to play
Patches of pumpkins and rows of corn
The best places to become lost
On this night a new season is born
To welcome in the coming frost
