The First Gift
The First Gift
In the beginning God created light and it was good.
Light
First gift to creation -
Omnipotent radiance -
Trailing capes of celestial wonder
For the first new scented dawn
Past cherubic tinted twilight
No lambent refractions
Announcing the anointed in clear beams
On locked gates
With the radiance of lucent prophecy -
Hovering illumination
For candles in Babylon’s willow boughs -
Astral beacon framing the mystery
At the entrance of the radiant Daystar
With clarity for blind ears
And opaque deafened eyes
Lightning revelations for banished,
Defeated darkness
Rising like a burnished solstice,
Cloudless as the eternal Word’s
Never extinguished lantern in the timeless city –
Aura of the Everlasting love.
