The Fire Within

No longer does fire stir within this heart's sequestered din, memories and experience blur where once, there was a fire within. How dare the years pass away when laughter and joy were in flight and my prayers begged them forever stay yet in the shadows each slipped into the night. If only time could be turned back ignite the flames desire and burn as years and love denied all it lacked while in my heart the fire still yearns. It aches and beats a melody of you and me in younger days whispering and singing quietly of the fire alive within the maze.
