The Final Fight

A young girl sits on the stairs and cries gaping at the round dark circle coiled around her mother's eye. Her father having slapped the puzzled cat is now slouched forward on the sofa. his half full gin swallowed by the shoddy carpet. There's a hole in the bathroom door the size of a fist. She knows the time to leave has come. Frail as parchment; walks slowly up well worn stairs; opens the nightstand drawer Joyfully exploring his loaded gun.

This happens to many women. Women have to leave..they do not. End up dead, Glad you brought this out in the open... Mental abuse is harmful too. You can be sure someone on the Soup has had, or is experiencing it now, Bravo..the courage you have to write about life beyond butterflies, flowers, etc and things that are meaningless. Panagiota Bless you Panagiota

Panagiota. Your words have inspired me more then you could no. I have no doubt that there are others on Poetry soup who are going through this very situation. My hope is that it will help even one soul. That would be worth it all. Thank you so much for your comment. God watch over you and keep you always. Allen
