The Feeding

Diving down
To the surface
Dreaming of tomorrow
Is it worth it
Leaning into it
Forcing the heart inside to pump
Leave it alone
Driving nails into the skin
Longing for nothing but more pain
Scars from a life of masochism
Joyous tears that hide the shame
Cutting into the past
Feeding life into each vein
The anvil falls
As the seconds pass by
Lead me not idle stranger
For the feeding begins tonight

Well thank you Sara, I appreciate the kind words. This was actually one of my last pieces, I can't seem to write nowadays.
