The Fear
Closing my eyes
Drifting in & out of sleep
Please don't keep me
Wrapped around your little finger
Keep me safe within your heart
I know I can be difficult at times
It's just because I love you
I know my shyness intrigues you
I'm an enigma unto myself
To know me truly
Might be too much for you to bear
For I have many demons
Kept neatly upon my shelf
Please understand, I love you
That is why I run & hide
For fear of having my heart broken
For fear of being rejected
I'm afraid of being abandoned.
