The role of a father in the life of the child is
very, very important. We tend to see our
Heavenly Father the same way that we see
our earthly father. If the father has been
cruel, unloving, impatient, the child will
see view our Heavenly Father in that
same light. But, If our earthly father has
been protective and kind to their children
when that child comes to the Lord, they
will tend to have a much better relationship
with Him as a result.
God bless.
The Father’s Hand
When I was a child I would go walking with my dad
and he would extend his big hand down to me
and I knew that no matter what trouble came
by his side I’d find safety.
But when I was bad my father used the rod of discipline
and he used it so well
but now I gratefully acknowledge now
that that rod spared my little soul from hell.
Then there were the times when dad was at work
and friends well, I called them tormentors came over to play
why they would kick and hit till I’d say, “I’m telling dad”
and with one hand tied behind him, he could chase all of those bullies away.
Now the scene may be somewhat different
but the moral is still all the same
my Father’s hand I still can rely on
and He can whip all foes any ole day.
Though times have changed and the way seems rough
some things will never change
for the Father’s hand is till reaching from heaven to me
with love flowing deep from His heart.
