The Far Expanses of My Mind
I find myself on the edge of time, drifting through the far expanses of my mind.
Imagining events in my distant past, finding comfort and hope in my world at long last.
Those childhood memories just take me away to times that were happy, carefree and gay.
No worries or bothers of how to get by; having all of my needs met in the blink of an eye.
Memories of parents in their splendor and grace, tucking me into bed and kissing my face.
Walking down beaches, playing in the sand; building castles that were carefully planned.
Collecting shells, starfish and riding the waves those were the most wonderful of days.
Although I can never regain those days so sublime, I can always remember them in the far
expanses of my mind.
