"The Familiar"
Softly ever so Softly
on hardened paws
Nemesis
follows the
Red Apple
scent of
Her sword
a peony pink pocket flushed
velvet violent violet viola
playing
warm honey dripping
from the pocket
it buzzes
as if with bees
and it burns
Softly ever so Softly
on hardened paws
Nemesis
follows the
shadow magnet
dark wings beckoning
and the
Red Apple
scent of
Her sword
Nemesis hungry
to feel where
Her shadow burns
will swallow Her essence
like speaking a 1000
beautiful mysterious words
Rosicrucian from Her Vulgate
now opened
dropping pearls
on the trail
melting frost
to quench his
lupul diavolului
thirst
The King of the Forest
scorned and
tepidly scorched
by hidden eyes watching
absolutions mistaken misread
wants Her to turn Her head
wants to be heard
that he will take
Life over Dark Night into day
escape in the light of Her shadow
forever from
The Forest of Hurt
He watches
and waits
following no Angel
la religieuse bleue en habit noir
dropping pearls
on the trail
She’s melting
frost to quench
his thirst
The Familiar
bides his time
with hungry soulful eyes
relishing the feel of
Her imprint in the wake
of Once-was-Woman
something invisible in the
tidal pull of Her
pierces his heart to bleed raw
it nonchalantly
ruffles his moon silver fur
Softly ever so softly
On hardened paws
Nemesis
follows the
Red Apple
scent of
Her sword
Two guarded Familiars.
Black shadows -
He too, follows,
her peony pink pocket
dripping
frost melting
pearls

“And sometimes thro' the mirror blue
The knights come riding two and two:
She hath no loyal knight and true,
The Lady of Shalott
But in her web she still delights
To weave the mirror's magic sights...”
