The False Promises of Love By Er Haider Khan
There once was a girl, so proud and so fair,
Whose arrogance I couldn't help but compare,
I longed for her love,
But she looked down above,
And rejected my feelings without a care.
I asked her what I had to do
, To make her see my love was true,
She said I must be rich,
And have a certain niche,
But I knew in my heart that wasn't true.
But then one night, she called me out of the blue,
Saying she loved me, my heart felt brand new,
But soon she was gone,
And my love for her was drawn,
As she disappeared with nothing to do.
I realized then, her love was not real,
Just a game she liked to play, with no deal,
I let her go, and move on,
And found love that was true, that had no dawn.
