The Fall of the Jungle King
Hunger when I see you
What's an animal to do?
Reaching for perfection
With nothing but affection in my heart
Fear aside, come step into my cage
Where the air is dry but cooler in the shade
Blind since my recapture
To does and does not matter
Just because you're paranoid
Doesn't mean that they're not out to getcha'
Friends appear and will tell you of their dreams
And enemies, well, they're never what they seem
Eclipse of the sun with the birds anticipating
Fall of the one time mighty jungle king
The whole point of no return
Was a landslide of earthly concern
'Only time I knew my place
Was when they rang my bell and then they ran away
Close your eyes, lo' and behold the truth
And what you feel belongs to none but you
No complaints, I've no regrets
I've made my peace with what is left
And my pride it was no gift it
Was a curse I will be glad to have lifted
The price I paid I choose not to remember
With a leap of faith and the courage to surrender
The fall of the once so mighty jungle king
The world still turns and the birds, they still sing
