The Fall of Man
Back then Fall called to me
Waving the challenge of ice
Betrayal of crunch crackle leaves
Too many layers to move in
Yet not enough to stand in
Back then family needs
Drove the hunter
And fed the killing joy
That flick of tail
That raising head
Was roasting on my table
The need's been met
The hunt's for joy
I shiver more no longer boy
And can no longer take a stand
I catch them yes but understand
I still require the need to know
Before I let them go
The simple raw of life intense
To travel where there is no fence
To see the beautiful of life
In wind that cuts without a knife
The summer's gone it's blown away
The Fall is running day by day
As full of joy I'm led astray
By they who live in present tense
Supplying me with recompense
