The Faithless Voter

Hans Christian Andersen getting jealous
its election time and Politian’s are getting zealous
telling tales is now the norm
the promises are falling like in a heavy rain storm
fake news fills your news feed
all written to convert and mislead
they will promise you the moon and stars
then send your kids to die in wars
starve the poor and feed the rich
It’s not the greatest sales pitch
brand new hospitals, cut the pay of those fat cats
more broken promises from liberal democrats
their lips move but the truth does not come out
empty promises is all they spout
save the planet the rallying call
just before they fly to las Vegas for the climate ball
trusts a dirty word not to be believed
spoken my Politian’s who ask should we stay or leave
you will still go work and get poor pay
and they don’t listen to what you say
they will just mock your decision
your vote means more when cast it for strictly on television
