The Faithful

Somewhere between life and a dream, I awake Treading liquid air by arm, though remaining in one place Tire from living, tire from the hectic pace Drawing in breaths deelply in fear, FROM fear and WITH fear they escape It resonates in the chest bleak Clambering through body as so mind is deprived of sleep Somewhere between death and peace Something like free will retreats As all is made formidably bleak I've lost the nerve, the will to seek release As the mind draws closed, the body laying flat out in defeat Somewhere between irration and hope I linger faithfully.
