The Fairest Fowl

Epitome of ostentatious pride,
the peacock, glorious in regal stride
parades his flowing train of turquoise green.

His crowning glory bursts in bold array,
a mesmerising optical display;
the greatest pageantry there's ever been.

And then begins a courtship of romance
as eyes entice in hypnotising dance
a passing peahen dazzled by the scene.

His stunning beauty shimmers in the sun
A radiant flamboyance has begun,
Ablaze with lustrous iridescent sheen.

Wendy, I am such a sucker for bright and bold colorful displays, so the peacock has long been my favorite bird. I love the words you use to describe this fairest of the fowl: ostentatious, mesmerising, pageantry, hypnotising, flamboyance, iridescent. A fitting panoply of glorious words for our glorious bird set to your flawless rhythm, rhyme, and flow. A fave, congrats on your win ~ John (funny, the captcha is PHN, which of course I read as peahen!)
