The Faceless Groom

The day has come
It’s finally here
I know he’s the one
A day filled with cheer

Such a sight to see
In his tuxedo and tie
Giving his heart to me
Until the day we die

Flowers in my hair
A long white dress
He can’t help but stare
And to that night caress

Up to the alter
He gently guides me
When preventing my fall
A Faceless Groom is all I see

The face is blurred
No features to comprehend
Only his tender voice and loving words
My way he sends

The ceremony continues and remains
He comes in near as I give a kiss
Once the vows exchanged
To a man of nothingness

At first I am always struck
With shock, fear and dismay
But I always seem to grow
To fall in love with him that day

As he comforts me
From a mouth I can not see
And I touch his face
Like reaching for outer space

A Faceless Groom I marry each night
It’s magic I feel in my dreams
And we dance and we love every time
I’ll find him one day it seems
