Notes About The Poem

The Eyes Through Which I Choose To See

All eyes are mine to choose,

and yet, these are the eyes I love.

They are the eyes that see only

the beauty of this world.

The world I dream all others

could embrace, as I embrace.

As I will always embrace.

My mother placed her lips

upon my eyelids,

whispered kisses for my soul

and these eyes,

that received her love,

must share it with the world

every time they open.
