Notes About The Poem
for Hiya Sharma's Leaves Of Life Poetry Contest
The Eyes of Time
I am the eyes of time.
Think not that you
can escape my power.
From eons down to seconds,
I see every blackened decade
and your each and every
golden hour.
Only God Himself
can comprehend me.
Did He, in fact, create me?
He can go in
and out of me
for I am as a full moon
that blooms forever
spherically.
I see all,
so I know all.
~Neither dusk nor dawn
can delude me.~
I’m the cherry blossomed tree
of beginnings and
~the foliage of farewell~
~As the leaf of life
sleeps upon your lips.~
As your loved ones age,
I watch with no remorse.
You too will wilt away.
I’ll utter not a sigh.
Only God and I can
see all history,
and always, like God,
I shall remain.
I am the trinity of
past, present and future.
Omnipresent -
I’ll be watching
ever-knowing
in every galaxy,
on the waters of all seas,
and from every kind of sky,
and I abide even
~when the soul-stars
dream and die.~
