Notes About The Poem

The Evacuation

Hurry, hurry, hurry, we have to pack and leave town.
Hurricane Matthew is coming to knock us around.
We have water, food, clothes, now let’s go…
Exactly what will happen nobody knows!

It’s better to leave our home than to risk our lives,
We have to be smart if we want to survive.
This storm is ominous, and could spell disaster,
But God is in charge, He is the Master.

We have to use wisdom with this formidable storm.
In the blink of an eye, the hurricane could transform.
God will be there for us during this evacuation,
We have to trust in Him, He is our salvation!

Thanks Linda. It is beyond our control, but we have to do what we can to be safe, and trust God.
