The Eternal Battle

Darkness and light give not way to one another without a fight,
Each ready to show its might and displace the other,
Something akin to day and night;
And the onlooker has no choice but to bear the plight.

Daybreak and nightfall are the circle of life;
The day brings with it a new vigour to work,
But then the night tries to put a knife,
Into the spokes of the wheel of life.

Arrived that magical moment, the turning point of the fight,
Suddenly a spark is in sight to the lamp alight,
Removing the empty void of the dark night -
Displacing it, and in a trice darkness meekly takes flight.

Suraj, here's one I haven't read from you... I know this battle well... you did great with the imagery. I find it epic and related to any day situation. .. ps... You've done good in my contest ... see you around. Linda
