The Endless Dance
The house contains
Hidden mirrored
darkness
And velvet vague
Echoes within
echoes, wanting
Desperately
To be remembered.
Eyes within eyes
I can see,
Over my shoulder
Sepia tinted
yesterdays
Of magnolia
memories,
Scented sensations
And realisations
Of far away
And long ago
And faces that
I seem to know.
Somewhere in the
distance
There is music
playing,
Such a haunting
And bittersweet
Melody
Comes dancing
Through dust laden
Hallways ,
Making lace draped
crystal
Chandeliers
Quiver in ecstasy,
This ghostly gentle
symphony
That seems
to be
A part of me.
And then I sense you
by my side,
Slipping your hands
Into mine
Together once again,
And suddenly
I realise
In sweet delight
And soft surprise,
The eyes within
the eyes I saw
Were memories
From a distant
shore,
Returning
To my heart again
To kiss my soul
And heal my pain,
My darling
Shall we dance
again?
