The End of the Search For Love

When I am gone
The should be no tears
I lived my life the way I wanted
My heart loved and yearned for years
And it was broken more than once
It was not of my choice
It never found love’s true essence
Although it forever searched
It never found that one love
Above all others
The love written of in poetry and song
A love that even death could not end
Did it really ever exist?
Maybe in my next life
I will be Romeo and I will find my Juliet
My heart will beat in unison with hers
My life will be hers to own and keep
That is for another world
Another time
For me
This world, this time
Is coming to an end
And there is no Juliet for me
If there ever could have been
A true love for someone such as me
I guess I will never know.
