The End of the Road
I haven’t begun to mention
The way I think or feel
The path ahead is lonely
My heart is unfulfilled
I don’t know where I’m headed
But I remember where I’ve been
I couldn’t enjoy my life
Until I met my friend
I still continue to love him
Though he’s left the world we know
I think about him often
Then I don’t feel so alone
I search my soul for memories
I find a happy smile
He guides me with his light
Each and every mile
If I could tell him one more thing
I know what it would be
I’d tell him that I love him
And beg him not to leave
I know that I can’t see him
I know that I can’t go
I know we’ll be together again
At the end of the road
