The End of a Day

Precious moments fade to black at twilight
as sleep shuts my weary eyes.
It’s the end of a day.

My wants, needs and expectations all rest
snuggly beneath my pillow...
where they'll peacefully sleep.

So goodnight, moon, and all the stars that shine.
So long to all birds that sing...
till we meet tomorrow.
