The End and the Beginning

In the depth of night
Glassy eyes staring
Into the emptiness
Of blurred space
Spread in front
Of the backdrop
Of cold infinity
This is the end
And the beginning
At least for me
My eyes do not see
The colors of the world
Nor do I feel the cold
Of icy hail falling
On my naked body
Abandoned in the
Barren land of nobody

Unrecognizable time
Scattered all over
Like frost flowers
Painted on the glass
Look beautiful but
Odorless and lifeless
I brush them gently
With fingertips
And imagine velvety
Surface soaked up
With intoxicating
Scent sinking into
My lonely psyche
Trying to wake up
Hibernating memories
But don’t feel anything
Don’t smell the scent
Don’t see the shapes
Of the world I used to
Belong in those remote
Fading into the shadows
Of past numbered days
Jut empty space
Spread in front of me
This is the end and
The beginning
At least for me

I hope you Ruta that you loved as you lived at least for you. This is a sad piece of poetry.

Such a sad, raw poem Ruta. Almost made me cry. I felt your emotions. Powerful poem! Blessings, Susan
