The End

How long it's been? A million years. Since we last spoke, it seems. Like lil' Engine thought he could My engine's out of steam. I found you once, you moved cross town; I knocked up on your door. You answered, your eyes full of hate "Don't come here, mom! No more!" I heard him cry, from down the hall; My heart came to my throat. I asked to see my grandson once You said, "now Mom, take note." "Sure you can see my baby's face, But it will hurt you more." "For when I take him from your arms; Then show you to the door." My heart was broke, it's nothing new; For when it comes to you. The pain and hurt you bring to me That's all you know to do. But thanks to you, I saw the truth The girl I went to see. It's not the same girl, I once knew I wonder, where is she? You spewed your hate, your voice, it rose; I asked you one last time. The words you spew, just emptiness; Your words? Not worth a dime! You stood with me, Stood toe to toe; A stranger, there you stood. You shut me out. You want me gone? Perhaps, that's best, I should. I heard your words, they stung a bit; But pain is nothing new. For pain is all I get from you And cry, is all I do. But something seemed so different As I left your house that day. Resolve I had with in myself; Away from you, I'll stay. Words last I said, "You best be sure!" "I won't be back again!" And then I turned and walked away; You got your wish! The end!
