The End

I once saw a green snake
Its innards were splayed-out as the sun did it bake--
But its eyes I remember most--
This was not "zero to the bone" nor "into that goodnight"
Something different this was--
And so I write this because

The fire was gone still the light flickered dim
It was soon to come...soon friend--
A passive acceptance of 'What Was and What Will Be',
The eyes said it all--
So Sorry Charlie...The End

                                           The End
                                             9/12/'13
