The Empty Glass

The Empty Glass December 24, 2013

I’ll not be home for the holiday, I see the empty glass
Thoughts from yesterday, lovely thoughts of our past
Times we shared together gone forever more
I can still see your smile, you met me at the door
I still sing our song and wish you good cheer
The days are long without you
Those days are gone for sure
A little touch is that too much
A little smile from your loving eyes
Maybe I’ll wake up someday
To find you’re here to stay
It’s just a dream
You know what I mean
If we don’t make it here
I’ll meet you there my dear
I’ll not be home for the holiday, I see the empty glass
Thoughts from yesterday, lovely thoughts of the past
