The Elderly Hold

The elderly are precious
Please let them know
Like a bud they have matured
Into a blossom to behold

Beware of the chill that folds the flower
It withdraws like the old
With a caress of warmth and tenderness
It'll unfold to become a Rose.

The elderly are the soil into which the young plant their roots in search of nourishment. Tenderly written poem dear Brenda. Enjoyed it!
