The Edge Of Eternity

In life’s changing dynamic landscape, 
the pathway across the tortuous topography 
winds the present moments to the nebulous future, 
imprinting the footprints of fate 
for me to walk the last mile.

In the ordained journey to the timeless domain
life turns into a turbulent river of time,
where the cross currents of incursive thoughts 
interlace with the mystic motif of the mind,
making an unhinged lattice of introspection.

In the disorderly gust of divesting disarray   
my wanton spirit is disheveled to dishabille state.
As my mind wavers unsure in the cascade of confusion,	
prudent thoughts intrude the psyche with awareness,  
searching for the meaning of life in contemplation.

I feel the pulse of time vibrate 
in the realm of mortal impermanence
with the harmonic cadence in harmony 
with the indistinct rhythm of eternity intonation, 
manifested in timeless transition 
from one phase to another in ambiguous continuum,
modulated mystically by the acuity stimulus 
shimmering in the illumined soul.

I trace the shifting shadow of the furtive future, 
configuring the image of the illusive life, 
carried by the transcendence of the mirage  
across the desert to the oasis mind, 
where dwells the aspiration of perpetuity 
with the dormant dream of immortality
in the instants stalled within the frozen time.

There the spectrum of the setting sun 
tinges the shadow of infinity in the sated soul,
floating in the ethereal waves in the bay of bliss.
where I wait to drift to the yonder shore 
across the sea of uncertainty 
between the present and the future,
not knowing if it defines the edge of eternity,
and what lies beyond.

Its long, flowing lines and dense philosophical diction create a deliberately unsettled, river-like momentum, mirroring the speaker’s passage through uncertainty, introspection, and spiritual longing. The poem’s recurring landscape and water imagery—tortuous topography, turbulent river, desert mirage, oasis, bay, and sea—gives its abstract ideas a vivid symbolic geography. The closing vision of the setting sun, the “yonder shore,” and the “edge of eternity” is especially resonant: it holds wonder and apprehension together, leaving the reader in the same compelling threshold-state as the speaker.
