The Echo of That Broken Word

The perfect word I've rarely known
words are never my real deal
wish I could hear a true echo
which would produce my own squeal

But words have been life long quest
the tongue refuses to correct
pray for an echo to speak aloud
then find a spot to just press select

The select button is so inconsistent
some words come out, others break
you feel that echo around your ear
it's broken again thinking what's at stake?

In your inner being so very anxious
aroused within tension mounts high
straining to push words right out
it seems so hard makes one sigh

The echo of that broken word
repeating itself over in my head
inner strength required to fight on
seek calming peace for words instead!

(Some thoughts on an echo and its effect on my life concerning all my broken words.)

Thanks Ann, So good to hear from you again, thanks for your kind words, and glad you liked this one. It changes from day to day, in recent months I've been working on a meditation method called ' mindfulness' which has brought some respite after it was so bad during the 2 years of the worst part of covid. Have a blessed day, Gordon

"The select button is so inconsistent some words come out, others break"..... I too feel the same ! My problem is the inability to speak words that I plan to speak ! Instead some other words break out ! Well articulated dear friend Gordon !
