The Earth Is Still

Part 01 - The Earth is Still

SURE and so satisfied to be here together again. Let the gardens carry on its song.
i stand around in the peace that comes from the smell of flowers so sweet and silver; 
each comes to renew and to possess me with the fullest desirous freedom that we have
all around here.

my body shines pale like a carrion maiden soft and fresh like a flock of lambs.
my cheeks glow with the blood of life : one body.
the sweet smell of roses fills my nose.
the little lambs close up to me and wait to be born again.
i spread my wings spread wide around me.
and i become the figure of speech of light like a shade.
i speak a low question : "do i not shine through.
do i not join the bright flower:  my red body ?"

Part 02 - The Earth is Still

you step forward and allow your soft hands to touch
my sides softly--and you say--i am the daughter of the light.
you have not yet been bound by the ribbons of flesh.
i come to you more and more: the voice of an earthly voice.
my feet feel the warm grass at your feet.
you touch my body gently: i feel lightness as i become
of the earth and you and only the sky
connected.

i am at your feet: at your hips: you touch me .
and you say with breathless eyes "will you trust me ?"
winked eyelids colored by the light.
my heart beats slowly like a black stallion
just gone to sleep with its heavy hoofs still.

Part 03 - The Earth is Still

as the pulsations in my blood become
the most obvious parts of my body i cease to call your name
and cannot be told you are mine.
it is only now i know this.
it was to be a loving encounter--a love song.
our lips come together like two stars.
a scent of your breath comes from your mouth--
the smell of earth.

i am your woman
and your woman i will never be.
i remain here in the passion
of your arms.

Part 04 - The Earth is Still

my heart beating loud
but not on the inside.
i bend my head down to
you and you tell me a joke.
what could you want from a thousand kisses
and i am the devil!
the sunset is gone.

the sound of the wood being cut-off is heard.
you go out the door.
my head drops as i lie down on the soft earth
and the leaves stir.

Part 05 - The Earth is Still

the dew is heavy on the fallen dews of the leafs as they move up the hill.
when the dews have fallen on the forest floor and the young bees are chirping 
through the trees i feel you dancing around me
and i feel no pain.

i feel young as a child and as free
as a bird.

i dance with the light in my body.
as the light in your body from before has become shifted and bright like a star.

i dance with the light of the stars and as i leave you move myself around
and shine with the glory of the sun.

a new dawn of my spirit washes over me; it falls from my heart like a soft rain.
the dawn has come the moon is low.

the earth is still.
