Inspired by Glenn Hughe's song Medusa.

Hundreds of frenzied snakes Slithering from her head Looking at me While her gaze wants To turn me to stone But I glance away Knowing the damage That can be caused I met her Dwelling in a cave Unaware of most slang But she endures A painful existence. This Medusa A friend or fiend You tell me I need to know But I will love her Forever and a day One half orange and one quarter lemon Exchanging packages Will be our right True love While romancing sunsets Just remember To avoid the gaze When she’s beside herself And all will be Just fine

What a joy when a man finally finds a lady who is a reptile afficionado. I really like this poem for it's imaginative expression and lovely meter.

Dear Robert James L, I get on soup to read some poems and your title immensely caught my eyes and i had to read, and i am not at all disappointed! This is beautiful and so sweet too in a way, medusa, is one character that I absolutely love and admire for her strength amidst her life being cursed and how she was misused, and left with nothing but darkness in her eyes that turned anyone to stone, but she is powerful, and youve used it so well here and made me happy to read that despite all Medusa will be loved unconditionally and given all to make her feel loved! Also made me smile when i read about the cave line, never thought of Medusa as a cave dweller. Its a beautiful poem and it flows so well! True love, sees beyond all, and sees the light and love within ones heart. Can see that through this poem! And i love the quartr lemon line, didnt expect that! Pleasure reading you today! Sending you light always

Oh my, what a heart-moving and soulful poem this is on the Glenn Hughes song, dear Robert. The mythology of Medusa is really intriguing for a poetic soul to write upon and the way you've used it as a metaphor to describe the darkness that lingers in her existence as she endures the torment of life, that's absolutely brilliant! "While romancing sunsets" Ahh, the reflection of unconditional love in this and the subsequent lines.."To avoid the gaze when she’s beside herself" That line really speaks volumes! Loved reading this, brilliantly crafted! Sending light and best wishes always ~
