The Drunken

The Drunken...

I‘m the drunken, drinking the dew,
Flashing my wings, purple and blue.
Breeze is coming, bringing his wine,
Cup after cup, thinking of you.
He’ll be here; maybe he is there,
He is everywhere, through and through.
My lover with his faceless face;
Told me that his love is pure and true.
He loves all lovers, endless love,
I am urging you to pursue.
I'm the candle, he is the light,
He is the fire, so love renew.
I may be insane, preaching love,
I'm calling him; what else can do?
Dance with his shadow, swim in light,
If you follow me, you’ll do too.
I am the drunken he's the wine,
I’m gullible; it means “Haloo.”

Fabulous rhythm and rhyme. Those first two lines just roll off the tongue, and the poem flows, so nicely. Well done.

Well done. Immaculate Ghazal. Maintaining the Qafia in English is a feat which uou have successfully performed. Keep it up. Thanks for visiting my poem Termite of Time and for your appreciation. In fact the poem is a translation of my Urdu Ghazal from my book Ashhab-e-khayal. That is why I classified it as Ghazal giving it a title unlike Ghazals. Had it not been a translation I would have classified it as couplet but not Masnavi. The poem is not even near a Masnavi. Regards
