The Dreamer's Shadow

My shadow wears
clean underwear
a freshly cleaned frock
and shoes that are smart
and it knows
the order of things
its hair is like
black spools of raw silk
my shadow is a dreamer
dancing, prancing and dreaming
of things above ground and under the sun
and follows me ‘til the day is done.

This is a wonderful write of something we take for granted - you have written a reflection of yourself in describing the shadow's personality!

A very pictureque and cute write that makes on smile. I remember playing with my shadow---I should probably pay more attention now. You inspired me, lol. Regards, Sara:)

I had to chuckle at your second line. Nice use of imagery. Though presented in a light fashion, there is a lot to think about in this poem. Nice parting comment. Thank you for your kind words regarding my poem. Keep on writing! Have a nice day. Karen

Thats right - While I was in prison I wrote a lot of poems about the shadow dancers that live in the halls - nothing to fear - God Bless
