The Door

This was the escape I had dreamed of
The realm of uncertainty
The unknown passages of time.
It was the roar of the wind
Against my naked soul
The brilliance of colour
That blinded me
The deafening noise of the world left behind
That echoed in my ear.
Lingering wails of despair
Followed me
Reaching for me
Pulling me back,
To forsake my destiny.
But the warmth of the Light
Beckoned me onward
And I stood at the Door of Eternity
And I knew that I was Home at last.
