The Doctrine of No Self

You don't perceive me
You try to trap me
Calling it 'objective.'

I trapped myself too
Through my own lack of wisdom.
But now I'm like a cloud that dissolves.

Herman Hesse wrote
That the delusion 'of a
(Unified self) is a mere
Transference:

'as a body every human being is
a single entity. As a soul, never'.

But even the soul is less than
A cloud.

I witness how I move through space.
Birds clap their wings and I turn
Into a bird.

Or no. I'm not quite there yet. It's just a glimpse.
Just a glimpse. And I have no right to speak too
Much of it. Hush!

But I will say that I sense
That what I see is a trap
unless I let it go.

And that you
Constantly trap me too.
And your friend. And that bird.
And yourself.

earthly apparitions don't change forms.
Not too much. Just a little, maybe.

And there is
Beauty in the essence of such forms.
And there is love in the essence of

Such forms. And there is pain in the essence

Of such forms.

And there is more than peace in the lack of thereof.
And there is less than peace in the lack of thereof.

But I still only glimpse and tiptoe in between.
Essence and no essence. Essence and no essence.

A shape shifter like a little kitsune. Only that
There is
no one.
