The Disembodied
A poet has no gender or existence
only black words
Seen and read by anyone in particular
What is the intent?
Brain synapses come alight
in reinterpreting the meaning
A blonde man's blue eyes
say "I know what this means"
but do not know the author
Brain synapses come alight
in inventing the meaning
A black woman's brown eyes
say "This is what this means"
The poet's disembodied message
(words by the baker's dozen)
has traveled long miles
The meaning of the poem
no longer a private pearl
becomes public like a frog
Shifting like the desert sands
What will it be 10,000 years hence?
