The Dilemma of a Goddess
I was baptized with a sacred immunity;
yours: the futile spearing
at my crocodile bone
at my rock-built shell!
it shall a sorry fate be:
as a melting terminal wind!
a toad journeys not at noon in vain,
a tortoise was not made a sage in vain;
keep those flames of your laughters;
keep your tears from me
& that load of rude flamboyance:
your tankers of majesty;
keep them from my forge
in keeping yourself safe!
I am of the two worlds?
