The Difference Between You and Me

I am your pick
Supposed to be a sacred slaughter
A sacrifice for your the Gods or Religion

I'm nothing more than mere food
Digested into your greedy tummies
Forgotten when you have your the next meal

Can I take the chance to say
Perhaps my soul will reach out to you
And maybe in our next births
I shall be the human and you the animal

But I promise I shall not be harsh
Not the way you have been
I shall not use religion as a sacrilege
I shall use my own thinking
I shall not sacrifice you the animal
on the contrary, I shall tend to your needs

That is the difference between you and me!
