The Dichotomy of Life

I’ve raced unshod through life,
* Physically seeking a resting place where none existed.
Only my consenting ears beheld,
The silent murmurings of the wind;
Some days, doubt plagued my mind,
Leaving me torn betwixt reality, and pretend.
As life disintegrates, I seem to sprint toward sunset,
And the colorless apparition of death;
