The Devil's Stones
THE DEVIL’S STONES
The devil’s thrown some stones at me,
And some have knocked me down,
But I must look up now and see
The people all around.
They’re praying I’ll get up again
And not give up the fight,
That I will still God’s word defend
And continue to do right.
Now I can look and concentrate
Upon those many stones
And I can wallow in my fate
And think I’m all alone.
Or I can grow determined more
To get back up and fight,
For there’s a victor in this war
Of wrong against the right.
Though many things were done to Him,
He suffered and was shamed,
He paid the price for all my sin,
Took willingly my blame.
So though stones now are thrown at me,
This life is all it lasts
For Christ will have the victory
When from it I have passed.
Yes, stones may hurt the devil throws,
But this one thing is sure:
There in that hell some day he goes
He ever will endure!
So let me throw some stones at him!
God’s book! Christ’s blood that flows!
I’m going to get up again!
God, give me help to go!
