The Devil Inside

There is no better way to say
I met the devil yesterday
There is no better way to see
Forever you, and always me

I looked for evil in the night
I looked for demons dressed in white
Redemption lost on war-torn souls
The mirror showed me what i know

In every you, and every me
Phantoms soaked in gasoline
An echo left for what it was
Drowning; just the two of us

I never know what lies beneath
But when I sleep, i grind my teeth
In Sober dreams of dirty deeds
The killer [you], the killer [me]

I justified these alibis
Just suffocate me till i die
The fire ignites these clear blue eyes
Foolish thoughts will ask me why

I make mistakes to tear it down
My demon hands won’t make a sound
You held my hand without a clue
I burned it down and took you too

Just let me breathe in bitter dreams
I’m sure it’s better than it seems
Another night; another stand
Don’t ever ask to take my hand
