God created a universe to appease,
The earth, the stars, the seas.
He also created the devil who would tease
He would be the angry, rebellious seed
Once an angel of light is his confession
He was kicked out of God’s glorious heaven
To begin his reign on this earth, his possession
Regaining power with his worldly weapons
His armament on earth cuts like a knife
That beckon us to sin when there is strife
He lays in wait for those he might invite
Hoping to discourage from eternal life
He is bound for an eternity of suffering
Old Lucifer is a liar from the beginning
His hand is on the sinner who keeps sinning
He shows up wherever evil might be winning
This devil who sends his demons to destroy
Is definitely not someone with whom to toy
He has power on this earth, but can’t employ
Anyone who trusts completely in God’s joy
He can make life hard for those who believe
Sending us messages of distrust to perceive
But his ways are not strong enough to make us leave
The faith that has taught us we need not grieve
The devil is like a roaring lion, going to and fro,
Seeking whom he may destroy with his ammo
Seeds of doubt and distrust that we know
Are mere lies sent to dissuade from the chance to grow
This evil one may tempt us with trials and such
But he can never give us the truly soft touch
That comes from God above with so very much
Love that there is no way of denying who is judge
