The Desire

The night is threatening and cold I am walking down the graveyard of my past And I am trying to read A vague messages of future Childhood is standing, smiling, And holding my heart in its hands I want to join it But it fades away I am walking slowly, memories are vanishing And I see an adult world Grinning triumphantly It is jubilating because of my defeat Childhood is losing its glow It is waving, it is disappearing And it is taking away Innocence, dreams, joy I want childhood To stay here forever But the darkness in front of me Is singing some strange melody I hear old, wise souls That are whispering to me encouragingly Not to give up and to begin A journey again
