The Desert Flower: Will To Survive
Hot sun up- beams over;
Parched earth cries- forever for water;
Wind carries dust- miles after,
And on a thorny cactus- blooms a flower.
White soft petals- glistening bright,
Waiting to look afresh- under moonlight;
Roaming bats - come searching you at night,
And fight for life- is never so light.
Desert, you bloom in- is a Garden of Eden;
Smile, you at sunlight- yet, forever got beaten;
Peep to your heart, to feel-if the courage does deepen,
Or is it the fear of dying - drives you against Demon?
Won 3rd place at the Will to survive poetry contest
